"The Case of PVD"

Oil Rubbed Bronze. The mere mention of it brings tears to my eyes. I can't help it. I get emotional when it comes to decorative finishes. And Oil Rubbed Bronze from California Faucets with it's luxuriously rich dark brown tone? Let's just say I didn't earn the nickname "Cry Baby" in kindergarten.

Of course, Oil Rubbed Bronze doesn’t make everybody blubber. A case in point? Bonnie Bidet. As tough a customer as they come, Bonnie liked the color of Oil Rubbed Bronze, but didn't like the way it changed over time. She wasn’t leaving my showroom until I found a solution. Bidet had a seat.

I explained that Oil Rubbed Bronze is a "living finish" like Weathered Copper orVerde Green. Part of its unique appeal is that it ages and wears over time, enhancing the rustic, antique look of the faucet.

"I know that!" Bidet sprayed. "But I don't want it to change!" I sighed. For Bidet, there was always a but.

I couldn't blame her though. She wanted to accessorize her faucet with Cal Trim-- everything from her p-traps to her deluxe angle stops-- and she wanted all the fittings to maintain the same exact finish. Oil Rubbed Bronze just wouldn't do that.

Bidet made me come clean. I admitted that permanent color tone is not a feature of Oil Rubbed Bronze. "But..." I said, lingering on the word Bidet loved so well,"...California Faucets offers Mocha Bronze, the industry's only true PVD version of Oil Rubbed Bronze."

"PVD? What's that?" Bidet spouted. A tough question whose answer lay at the California Faucets PVD display at the back of the showroom. I showed Bidet the rear.

I explained that PVD, or Physical Deposition Vapor, is a state-of-the-art process that molecularly bonds the finish to the faucet, creating a surface so durable it's guaranteed for life against tarnishing. "And the color will never change!" Bidet gurgled.

I nodded, pleased. As usual, Bidet saw the bottom line. With PVD she could get a permanent Oil Rubbed Bronze look. "You're amazing, Sam," Bidet gushed. Touched, I grabbed for my hanky. After all, the only thing that chokes me up more than decorative finishes is pleasing customers.

My name is Spout. Sam Spout. I run a showroom and like to specify California Faucets. Because quality product, customer service and unparalleled on-time delivery matter.
